Reflection
My Personal Learning Network was nonexistent before beginning this course. This course has taught me so much and made me comfortable sharing what I know with other professionals at my school. I used several Web 2.0 tools for social purposes, but never dreamed of how useful these tools could be on a professional level. I am currently a third grade teacher at my school. I plan on using these tools for professional development purposes. However, when I get in an administrative position I will feel completely prepared to use these tools to share information with stakeholders on a larger level. As fast as technology changes, I am sure there will be something new by the time I reach this position, however, by keeping up-to-date with new technology from my own PLN I will know where to go now for professional development and questions I will have along the way. I have developed a professional relationship with the technology coordinator at my school through this course. We are now following each other on Twitter and keep each other informed of things we think are interesting to know and beneficial to our school. I am going to work together with her to provide a professional development session with the teachers in my school. I will show them how to use various Web 2.0 tools to create their own PLN. I look forward to reflecting on our school's progress during the PLU session of this course.

Jill, because of this course, I am excited to share this information in my next professional development training. Blogging will definitely be added to my PLN.
ReplyDeleteJill, You bring up such a good point about changes in technology. Hopefully, this course will help all of us to keep up with those changes. I think it's great that you have a Twitter friend at school to explore Twitter with professionally.
ReplyDeleteIt is great that you are going to show other teachers how to use some of the other Web 2.0 tools! That's what it is all about.
ReplyDeleteYou are very fortunate to have a 'technology friend' at school. I hope you can work together and teach the faculty some of the neat things we learned in this workshop.
ReplyDeleteIt is truly amazing how fast technology changes and improves! Just when I feel I have learned a particular program or tool, something else comes along that I need to know. The good thing is that we are constantly learning--the lifelong learner as the phrase goes. With this type of course under our belts, we can more easily learn new apps ad tools as they come our way. Good luck, Jill! :)
ReplyDeleteI had left a comment here earlier in the week and it is no longer here :( I feel like your "technology" connection will be a great resources as together you can keep each other up to date on new information and advancements in technology.
